Names of the month

Every month we nominate our favourite pet names...they may have tickled our fancy or be clever or unique. We hope you enjoy them!

July 2010

• Julie/July
  Latin origin, meaning youthful; For the pet born in July or one with a vivacious personality!
• Rolls Royce
  For the premium pet with a bit of attitude. Alternatively, the name Bentley would also suit a cat or dog a notch above the rest.
• Max, Maxi or Maxine
  Our number one dog name, you can't go past Max for short and easy. For a more fun variation, try Maxi or Maxine for a girl.
• Hugs & Kisses
  Do you have an affectionate pair of pets who love to be cuddled? Then Hugs & Kisses could just be the perfect choice!

June 2010

• Charlie Brown
  For the cute little guy you just can't resist, from the star of the 'Peanuts' gang.
• Adora-belle!
  A gorgeous girl who is adored by all deserves an Adora-Belle name....could also be shortened to Belle or Bella.
• Lord & Lady
  For the pair of pets with a graceful air...they get what they want and rule the household as if they are nobility.

May 2010

• Jeff, Sandra.... or Mo'Nique?
  For the pet lover who's been caught up in Oscars fever...give your pet a truly award winning Hollywood name! Or those more conservative could just go for Oscar, always one of our top ranking names. 
• Cha cha / Tango
  For the pet who danced right into your heart, with a Latin American flavour. This one is sure to be sweet and seductive!
• Einstein
  Just a pup but already knows a few tricks? Your pet could be a genius,
  so why not give him a name that suits.
• Tigger / Tiger
  For the kitty who is fun, playful, affectionate and cheeky....just like the popular character from Winne the Pooh. You can't go wrong with our most popular cat names.

April 2010

• Beyoncé / Lady Gaga
  After her stunning Grammy success, who can go past the gorgeous Beyoncé when looking for a name for their new girl kitten or puppy? Or how about Lady Gaga for something a bit more quirky?
• Apollo
  From the Greek god, meaning "destroyer" or "beautiful man". For the good looking dog who wrecks your home or garden (but how can you be angry when they cuddle up to you afterwards?!).
• Oreo / Tim Tam
  So cute you could eat them up? Then these famous cookie/biscuit names would suit them perfectly - Oreo for a black and white pet and Tim Tam for a chocolate brown.
• Akubra
  A traditional Australian bushman's hat....for the true blue Aussie pet!

March 2010

• Slinky Malinky: This pet is quick and nimble, light on his feet...and your favourite toy!
• Monty Zuma: Does your pet like to run the household?
  Think he's the general? Then this is just the name he needs.
• Oscar the Grouch: For the pet who loves to play in the trash. He may smell a bit but he's got a heart of gold!
• Princess Leia: She's a space age pet with a regal bearing…and good to look at too

• Ballofur: So cute he looks like a little ball-of-fur!
• Dammit: This is convenient...when he's missing or run outside you can just yell 'Dammit get in here!'
• Chairman Meow: Feline leader of Chinese variety - a takeoff on Chairman Mao, founder of the People's Republic of China (1893-1976).

January 2010

• Facebook: For the most networked pet in the hood (or the pet who likes to read?)
• Myspace: Another option for the pet who wants to get his/her name out there! (or the pet who justs needs his own space!)

December 2009

• Einstein: A pet more brains than beauty. Named after scientist Albert Einstein (1879-1955), famous for his theory of relativity.
• Klutz: This hapless pet just can't help knocking into things, knocking over things, and making a mess!

November 2009

• Boomerang: For the pet who may wonder off sometimes, but always manages to find his/her way back!
• Bondi: A pet who loves water and running around on the sand deserves to be named after this famous Aussie beach. If you're after a US beach, why not go for Waikiki or Malibu?

October 2009

• Bacon & Eggs: Good for a pair of early morning risers with a healthy appetite! Another meaty option is Bangers & Mash.
• Cookies & Cream: For those with a sweet tooth, Cookies & Cream are sure to go down well!

September 2009

• Jasmine: Celebrate spring with a flowery name for your sweet smelling pet
• Daisy: Another cute spring option for a gorgeous cat or dog.

August 2009

• Harley: A popular name for the cool dude who likes to ride! Short for Harley Davidson motorcycle, the US manufacturer of classic motorcycles.
• Axel/Axl: Father of peace, trustworth and dependable....also a very cool rock and roller!
